Coyote hunting on the Alberta prairies is very exciting. Those smart coyotes will test your skill as a rifle marksman by proving to be a small quick moving target that rarely gives you a standing shot. We recommend that you bring a smaller caliber rifle such as a 22-250 or a 220 Swift which are long distant and flat shooting caliber's. Sometimes those smart ol' coyotes won't come to our decoy as expected, so long shots are sometimes needed.
We employ a variety of calls sounding like rabbits in distress which most coyotes simply cannot resist. And of course, who could resist our coyote decoy called "Missy".
Camouflage clothing is a must for fair weather hunting. If you are hunting in snow, a plain white sheet works great. But remember to bring warm boots and layered clothing because we usually sit and call in an area. The weather can be cold and when you are hunting coyotes you cannot move a muscle otherwise the coyotes are running or loping off in the other direction. As coyotes have such keen eyesight.
Our hunting area covers farm land, river breaks, and wooded slough areas in central Alberta. So if you need a break away for something a little different, come and hunt coyotes with us here on the Alberta prairies.
Our Coyote Hunts take place from December to February.
We house all of our hunters at our farm outside of Viking Alberta. You will enjoy a comfotable stay along with great home cooked meals.
